Creative AI production and art direction
Finishing the course
Your final assignment
Produce an inspectable creative brief and review sheet for a small campaign. Use the fictional examples from this course, or a non-sensitive scenario you are authorised to work on. Do not submit personal workplace records to complete the course.
Build your evidence pack
- Write an art direction brief: Write a six-line brief for the workshop banner. Include aspect ratio, focal subject, text-safe area, palette, exclusions and two acceptance checks.
- Reference consistency and controlled variation: Create a reference sheet for an invented mascot using five fixed features and two allowed variations. Draft a review grid for three poses.
- Inpainting and local edits: Write a local-edit brief for the mug. List the area to change, the features to preserve and three places to inspect afterwards.
- Storyboards and continuity: Create a three-shot storyboard for finding an approved document. Include one continuity detail and one accessibility need in every shot.
- Asset provenance and publication review: Create an asset manifest with filename, purpose, source, edits, permission-check status, accessibility text and approval status. Include one file that must not be published.
Combine the five outputs in the downloadable course workbook. Write a short decision note explaining the problem, your chosen approach, the evidence used and one limitation that would matter in real use. Keep initial and revised versions where a check changed your answer.
Review against these criteria
- Describe the visual job before choosing decorative details.
- Keep a series recognisable without expecting identical generations.
- Define what changes and inspect what should remain.
- Plan a sequence before generating individual shots.
- Keep a usable record of where creative material came from.
Ask a colleague or learning partner to challenge one assumption if available. If working alone, use the worked examples to review your reasoning and record the limits of that self-review. Completion is a personal learning record, not independent certification.
Change one condition
Choose one input or assumption from your original exercise and change it. Explain which part of the result must be recalculated, rechecked or withheld. Keep the revised answer and a short explanation of why the change matters. This is a transfer exercise: repeating the model answer without adapting it is insufficient.
