Finishing the course

Capstone · 30 min

Your final assignment

Build a verification sheet that connects extracted claims to their original media. Use the fictional examples from this course, or a non-sensitive scenario you are authorised to work on. Do not submit personal workplace records to complete the course.

Build your evidence pack

  1. OCR and reading order: Create a two-column fictional notice on paper. Transcribe it in reading order and mark the headings that keep the events separate. Add one unclear character and label it unresolved.
  2. Charts: axes, units and visual persuasion: Calculate both shares and write a two-sentence chart description. State which extra information would be needed to judge service quality.
  3. Transcription, speakers and uncertain words: Write a corrected meeting note from these facts: Friday release is blocked; a review is needed; the speaker label does not identify an owner. Include a confirmation question.
  4. Video sampling and missing moments: Write two conclusions from the sampled frames: one justified and one unjustified. Propose a follow-up inspection that would answer whether the warning appears.
  5. Cross-modal contradictions and evidence priority: Create a three-row evidence ledger for the launch date. Write a brief update that distinguishes proposed dates from the approved status.

Combine the five outputs in the downloadable course workbook. Write a short decision note explaining the problem, your chosen approach, the evidence used and one limitation that would matter in real use. Keep initial and revised versions where a check changed your answer.

Review against these criteria

  • Check extracted text against the layout it came from.
  • Read the data structure before accepting a visual conclusion.
  • Avoid turning a probable transcript into a confirmed record.
  • Explain what a sampled summary cannot establish.
  • Keep conflicting sources visible instead of blending them.

Ask a colleague or learning partner to challenge one assumption if available. If working alone, use the worked examples to review your reasoning and record the limits of that self-review. Completion is a personal learning record, not independent certification.

Change one condition

Choose one input or assumption from your original exercise and change it. Explain which part of the result must be recalculated, rechecked or withheld. Keep the revised answer and a short explanation of why the change matters. This is a transfer exercise: repeating the model answer without adapting it is insufficient.
